Chardonnay May

Chardonnay May is a month-long celebration of Chardonnay, held across the Adelaide Hills region throughout May 2026. Organised by the Adelaide Hills Wine Region, the festival highlights the diversity and quality of Adelaide Hills Chardonnay through tastings, vineyard tours, and food-pairing events.

Participating wineries offer curated tastings of still and sparkling Chardonnays, including vertical tastings and limited-edition releases. Guests can meet the winemakers and learn about the nuances of Chardonnay production, including oak aging and malolactic fermentation.

Food and wine pairing events include seafood and cheese tastings, where guests can explore how different styles of Chardonnay complement various dishes. Winemaker’s dinners at top Adelaide Hills restaurants offer multi-course menus paired with aged and current-vintage Chardonnays.

Outdoor events include “Chardonnay & Oysters” on the vineyard lawns and “Sunset Chardonnay Sessions,” where guests sip wine while enjoying live acoustic music.

The festival’s “Chardonnay Masterclass Series” provides an educational component, with industry experts discussing the history and production techniques of Chardonnay.
